Mike Burke, BSc   
Chief Geologist

Prior to joining Golden Predator, Mr. Burke was employed by the Yukon Geological Survey since 1990, most recently as the as the Head of Mineral Services which includes the Yukon Minfile database, placer geology, Yukon Mining Incentive Program and the H.S. Bostock Core Library. Mr. Burke was responsible for liaising with mining and exploration companies, visiting active exploration sites, authoring the annual Yukon Mining, Development and Exploration Overview and presenting information on Yukon to investment bankers, financial institutions and mining analysts in meetings and conferences around the world.

Mr. Burke has worked since 1983 in the mineral exploration and mining industry in British Columbia and Yukon. He was fortunate to be part of the exploration team which discovered the Sa Dena Hes lead-zinc mine and the Ketza River Gold Mine in Yukon. Mike worked at the Ketza River Gold Mine from exploration through mine development, production and closure as the Mine Geologist before joining the Yukon Geological Survey in 1990. Mr. Burke holds a BSc in Geology from the University of British Columbia, and is a member of the Society of Economic Geologists.

Randall D. Peterson, MSc, MBA, PEng   
Chief Mining Engineer

Mr. Peterson has over 25 years’ experience in all facets of the mining industry, from mine planning and design through permitting, operations and reclamation in the USA, Canada, Australia and Mexico. Mr. Peterson has worked in coal, precious metals and phosphate operations, in both surface and underground operations, as well as in the industrial construction industry. Mr. Peterson holds a Master of Science degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Utah and is a Registered Professional Engineer.


Bruce Otto, MSc, PGeo  
Senior Structural Geologist

Mr. Otto, active in the minerals exploration industry for over thirty years, has studied the structural architecture of precious and base metal properties worldwide. He has published technical papers resulting from his research in orogenic sheeted gold vein systems, extended structural terrains, syn-sedimentary base-metal environments, and Sedex depositional environments. Mr. Otto joined Golden Predator, Inc. in March of 2010, subsequent to working for NovaGold Resources, Inc. where he was credited with increasing that property’s Copper and Gold resource, and Alexco Resources, Keno Hill program, where he studied vein systematics and paragenesis. He studies the geology of Golden Predator’s Yukon holdings, developing empirical models that provide an accurate structural context to the company’s asset base.

Mr. Otto graduated with a Masters degree in Geology from the University of Montana following a Bachelors degree in geology from Boise State University. He is a Certified Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional Geologists (AIPG), a PGeo with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC), and is a registered Professional Geologist with the states of Idaho, Washington and Alaska.

 

Jeffrey A. Cary, MSc  
Senior Geologist

Mr. Cary brings 23 years of experience advancing mineral exploration properties for Battle Mountain Gold, Hemlo Gold, Kinross Gold and the USGS.  He has worked extensively throughout the western United States and has significant experience in Mexico, Canada and Chile.  Mr. Cary’s expertise covers exploration for and development of epithermal precious-metal, porphyry precious-metal, and base metal deposits and includes  playing a key role in the development and modeling of Battle Mountain Gold’s world class Phoenix deposit, a +6 MM ounce Au-Ag-Cu skarn in north-central Nevada.  Mr. Cary holds BSc and MSc degrees in Geology, is a member of the SEG, NGS and FCGS and served for five years as professor of Geology at Fort Lewis College.

 

Erin O'Brien, MSc, PGeo  
Project Geologist

Ms. O’Brien has a diverse background in mineral exploration spanning 15 years. She has worked for various consulting firms including Caracle Creek International Consultants Inc., Golder Associates Ltd. and Morrow Environmental (SNC-Lavalin Environment Inc.) She has contracted for various junior and mid tier explorers including Stornoway Diamond Corporation, Canabrava Diamond Corporation, and Pacific Booker Minerals Inc. Her expertise includes Quaternary geology, regional reconnaissance exploration and managing drill programs.


Ms. O’Brien holds a Master of Science in Geology from the University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Environmental Studies from McGill University. In 2001, she became registered as a professional geoscientist with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
