The Rattlesnake Hills gold property is located approximately 40 miles west of Casper, in Natrona County, Wyoming, In January 2008, Evolving Gold Corp. (TSXV-EVG) signed a definitive option agreement with Golden Predator to acquire a 100% undivided interest in Rattlesnake Hills by issuing 3,000,000 shares over three years to Golden Predator and granting to Golden Predator a 0.5% NSR. The property covers 3,300 acres and consists of 127 unpatented lode mining claims and approximately 682 acres of Wyoming State lease lands.

The geological setting and style of gold mineralization at Rattlesnake Hills is similar to high-grade underground gold deposits mined historically at Cripple Creek, Colorado which report to have yielded over 20 million ounces gold. Mining continues in the Cripple Creek district where Anglo Ashanti is actively mining the low grade halo of the historic deposits an open pit operation with an approximate 0.25 g/t cut-off.

Three target areas were tested at Rattlesnake Hills during Evolving Gold's first phase of drilling in 2008, with significant results reported on 2 of 3 targets, and follow-up drilling for 2009 planned on all three targets. Evolving has reported the first of its 2009 drill results on their North Stock target in a July 13, 2009 news release with a portion of the significant intercepts reported as follows;
  • 10.8 g/t gold over 67.1 meters (220 ft at 0.315 oz/t) from 121.9m depth, including 39.29 g/t over 12.2m (40 ft at 1.147 oz/t) - Hole RSC-020
    • Hole RSC-020 includes halos of lower grade intercepts above and below the reported high grade, with 0.63 g/t gold over 80.3m from 30.5 m depth and 0.52 g/t gold over 38.1 m from 189 m depth.
  • 3.86 g/t gold over 9.1 meters (30 ft at 0.113 oz/t) within 137.2 m of 2.74 g/t over 131 meters (450 ft at 0.025 oz/t)
Drilling to date has defined a zone at North Stock approximately 450 meters along strike, 200 meters wide, and with a depth of at least 550 meters. Evolving reports over 40 percent of all assays within this body were above cutoff (0.25 g/t Au). The average grade of mineralized intersections above a cutoff of 0.25 g/t Au is 0.96 g/t Au (excluding drill holes RSC--17, RSC-18 and RSC-20). Drill hole RSC-20 expands the zone of high-grade within the mineralized halo to approximately 210 meters in strike length. Significant intercepts on the North Stock target for their 2008 program are as follows;
  • 2.92 g/t gold over 146 meters (480 ft at 0.085 oz/t) - Hole RSC-003
  • 2.74 g/t gold over 131 meters (430 ft at 0.080 oz/t) - Hole RSC-007 (now re-assayed at 2.84 g/t over 131 m (0.083 oz/t))
high grade zone lies within a large halo of gold mineralization, including aggregate down hole intervals of:
  • 359.6 meters at 0.90 g/t (1,179 ft at 0.026 oz/t) gold - Hole RSC-012
  • 307.4 meters of 0.77 g/t (1,010 ft of 0.022 oz/t) gold - Hole RSC-006
  • 274.0 meters at 0.65 g/t (900 ft of 0.019 oz/t) gold - Hole RSC-005
  • 269.1 meters at 0.55 gp\/t (885 ft of 0.016 oz/t) gold - Hole RSC-009
Evolving Gold's 2009 follow-up program continues as indicated by their March 2009 press release announcing commencement of a three rig, diamond drilling program for up to 15,000 meters (48,000 ft) in 2009.

The property has returned significant gold intercepts in limited, previous drilling by Newmont Mining Corporation and others. Past drilling was completed by both American Copper & Nickel Corp. (ACNC) and Newmont. ACNC drilled 32 shallow RC holes, targeting a peripheral banded-iron formation. Newmont's 14 hole program targeted reported intercepts such as 144 meters averaging 0.042 oz/t (1.44 g/t) gold, 75 meters averaging 1.13 g/t gold and 60 meters averaging 1.0 g/t gold, hosted in potassically-altered diatreme breccias associated with an alkalic intrusive complex.
